Read a page:
“Tyrannosaurus Rex. They were huge! Some were as long as a bus.” [dinosaur roar]
Hear individual words:
“Some. Were. As. Long. As. A. Bus. Some were as long as a bus.”
Recognize syllables:
“Tyrannosaurus is a big word. Let’s break it apart. Hold your wand like a hammer. Hammer on the word until it breaks apart. Ta-ran-a-sore-us.” [crumbling noise]
Hear phonemes:
“/b/ /i/ /g/. Big.”
Answer questions:
“Use your beam to find the word ‘quiet’.” [ding] “Quiet. That’s it!” [fly buzzing] “Fly Guy, you’re making too much noise!”
Explore to learn:
“Tycho Crater, thought to be over 100 million years old.” [ding] “Kepler Crater. Its rays are more than 200 miles long.”
Build your vocabulary:
[ding] Torrential. Game time! Press your big green button. Let’s play a game! Here comes the rain. Hold up your wand like an umbrella.” [rain falling] Now, that was a torrential downpour.”
Interact through movement and play:
“Find a piece of trash with your wand’s happy beam.” [ding] “This chair belongs in the junkyard. Now, let’s throw it away. Move your wand like you’re tossing it into the waste pile.” [cartoonish throwing noise] “Glad that’s where it belongs. Good work. It’s looking a lot cleaner around here.”
And learn in different languages:
“My costumes are as colorful as my music.” [Speaking Spanish]
