Kibeam™ Wand 1-2-3
The UF Lastinger Center / Kibeam™ Wand Reading System Pilot brings select New Worlds Reading books to life in a fun new way! With a simple point, wave, tilt or swirl of the wand, young readers can explore games and activities and immerse themselves in every story.
What You Need
Before setting up your wand, you’ll need:
- A mobile device such as an iOS or Android smartphone or tablet.
- Bluetooth enabled on your device.
- Access to a home Wi-Fi signal. (Downloading may complete more quickly if you are closer to your wifi router.)
- Your email address used for New Worlds Reading.
Setting Up Your Wand
Step 1: Download the Kibeam™ Wand App
- Go to the Apple App Store or Google Play store on your mobile device.
- Type Kibeam™ Wand in the search bar and tap the name in the results.
- Tap on the Kibeam™ Wand App preview.
- Tap the ‘Get’ (Apple) or ‘Install’ (Google) button.
Step 2: Follow in-app instructions
- Sign in with the email or phone number you use for New Worlds Reading.
- Allow Bluetooth permissions on your mobile device.
- Connect your Kibeam™ Wand to the Kibeam Wand App.
- Connect your Kibeam™ Wand to Wi-Fi.
Step 3: Add a Book to Your Wand
- Make sure the USB cable is plugged into the Kibeam™ Wand and a power source.
- In the Kibeam™ Wand App, go to My Shelf and see all available books.
- Tap on the book you’d like to add to your wand.
- Tap the Add Book button.
Once your books are downloaded, simply unplug your wand to start reading! If you have any technical issues setting up your Kibeam™ Wand, please contact our support team at support@newworldsreading.com.
