Guidance and Agreement for Data Harmony, Responsibility, Retention, and Sharing (GADRRS)
Developed by the UF Lastinger Center in partnership with the AIMS Collaboratory, the GADRRS universal data sharing agreement is a free resource that serves as a standard data sharing agreement for schools, districts, researchers and education solutions providers.
Protecting Student Data
Designed to protect student data and privacy, the GADRRS agreement outlines terms for data security, privacy and usage, ensuring student data are handled responsibly and in compliance with legal and ethical standards, as reviewed by the University of Florida’s General Counsel.
By using this agreement, districts and organizations can make intentional decisions about who can access educational data and why, and feel confident that authorized users are highly trained in data privacy, bound by security standards (DSAs) and have a direct role in analyzing the data.
GADRRS Goals:
- Ensure caregivers are aware of how their student’s data are being shared by schools/districts.
- Ensure that all school district partners uphold the highest level of safety and security when receiving and handling student data.
- Reduce time and legal and administrative costs to create a data sharing agreement.
- Increase de-identified data available to conduct research.
- Support small districts with a template that has already been vetted and approved by legal entities and other districts.
