Allen and Delores Lastinger are lifelong champions of the University of Florida, both as proud alumni and as the founders of the University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning, established in 2002.
As a former banker and a business education teacher, their careers and passions aligned to create an education innovation center dedicated to improving teaching and learning for children across Florida. Since its founding, the Lastinger Center has served millions of children and thousands of educators through powerful education initiatives, professional learning and family engagement programs.
The University’s Bob Graham Center honored Allen as Citizen of the Year in 2018. In 2012, Delores received the UF Distinguished Alumna Award as a College of Education alumna. Together, their volunteer efforts have been recognized with UF’s prestigious Lifetime Volunteer Award.
