Thomas Bean

In this role, Thomas leads a team that assists energy infrastructure developers in implementing best practices in community engagement and tribal relations to successfully progress viable energy projects around the country.

Prior to this role, Thomas was the director of public and community engagement for Florida Power & Light Company and was responsible for community programs including volunteerism, employee giving campaigns, education programs and Manatee Lagoon – An FPL Eco-Discovery Center.

Thomas’ civic involvement is extensive as he provides countless volunteer hours to various charitable organizations. He is the secretary for Children’s Services Council of Palm Beach County, having served as chair for six years, and recently joined the advisory board for the University of Florida Lastinger Center for Learning.

In 2016, he was recognized with the inaugural Young Professional of the Year Award by the Chamber of the Palm Beaches. Thomas served seven years as a staff member in the U.S. House of Representatives, including as chief of staff to U.S. Congressman Mario Diaz-Balart. He earned a B.S. degree in Journalism from the University of Florida in Gainesville, FL and a M.A. degree in Religion from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School in Deerfield, IL.  He lives in Palm Beach Gardens with his wife and three children.
